Founded more than a century ago, Frontier College mobilizes more than 3,000 youth volunteers each year in the promotion of literacy. They work with disadvantaged Canadians in inner cities, shelters, prisons, schools and reserves from coast to coast. Compugen has a close association with the college's Beat the Street Program which provides life skills and literacy training to street involved youth within the inner city. Beat the Street programs are centred around a Technology Lab, founded in partnership with Compugen. The lab serves as a valuable teaching and motivational tool for the young clients of Beat the Street. A recent partnership with Microsoft now allows young people to learn basic work-related technology skills while continuing to address basic literacy needs.
