Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops (CVAD) 7 2203 Long Term Service Release (LTSR) was released back in March 2022, and this hotly anticipated release couldn’t have come at a better time. As a review, LTSRs are typically released once every two to three years and have an extended lifecycle and support policy. Citrix has spent time making significant improvements to Microsoft Teams, user experience, security features, and has also overhauled the HDX graphics protocol stack. HDX now boasts two to three times higher frame rates and a steady 60FPS at 4K resolutions – all very exciting stuff.
The hybrid multicloud, a combination of on-prem and clouds from multiple providers, is far from a pipe dream. It'll be the norm sooner than you think.
There is a convergence of both timing and technology occurring right now that will catapult the virtual desktop to a place where people will hardly remember what their work life was without it.
