Finalist for Unified Communications Solutions
Toronto, Ont.—November 18, 2010—Compugen Inc., Canada’s largest privately owned IT infrastructure solutions and services provider, is pleased to announce that its Microsoft Advanced IT Infrastructure Solution was a winner and its Unified Communications Solution was a finalist for awards at Microsoft’s Canadian Impact Awards ceremony held in Toronto on 9 November 2010.
Compugen won in the Advanced IT Infrastructure category for its complete ground-up build of an IT infrastructure for District of West Kelowna, where it installed a complete computing platform comprising application, networking, telephony and user desktop infrastructure; migrating users and data from the Regional District of Central Okanagan infrastructure to a new state of the art data centre.
Compugen was named a finalist for its UC solution for Alberta Motor Association (AMA). Compugen’s OCS solution at the AMA, referred to as their “Virtual Agent” program, addresses a major business problem associated with cost management and attracting and retaining qualified staff for AMA’s walk-in retail branches in remote locations, such as Fort McMurray, which borders on Canada’s Northwest Territories, where wages are very high due to the influence of the local Oil Sands operations.
This is the second significant recognition Compugen has received from Microsoft in 2010. At the Microsoft Worldwide Partner conference in July 2010, Compugen, a Microsoft Large Account software Reseller (LAR), was named for the software sales Operational Excellence Award for 2009.
“Compugen is proud once again to be chosen by Microsoft as the winner in the Advanced Infrastructure Category and as a finalist in the Unified Communications category in the Canadian Impact Awards for 2010,” said Marty Grosh, National Director, Professional Services, Compugen. “We have great expertise in both fields and regularly work with our customers to drive down the cost of doing business while improving the level, range and reliability of their business infrastructure. I would especially thank our consulting team for their diligence in design and delivery. It speaks to their breadth, depth and excellence that Compugen was named in two categories and designated winner in one.”
“Our partnership with Microsoft is critical to our business success and to the innovative business productivity solutions we bring to our customers,” said Harry Zarek, Compugen’s President and CEO. “This success owes much to great teamwork between Microsoft, Compugen and our customers.”
